Title: Kanji Tester for JLPT Levels 3 and 4
Body: The Kanji Tester is a new system for study of Japanese vocabulary and kanji. The system generates randomized multiple-choice tests for users, using linguistic models from the FOKS dictionary to generate plausible multiple-choice questions. In this way, it provides a very useful tool for learners to gauge their level of proficiency in vocabulary and kanji recall and recognition. The system is found at: http://jlpt.gakusha.info . By using the system, learners also contribute to the researchers’ understanding of the types of errors typically made when studying Japanese. Note that this is a non-commercial system, and forms part of a longer-term research project on tools for Japanese language learners at the University of Melbourne. Baldwin, T. Adaptive JLPT tests. Japanese Teachers and Instructional Technology (JTIT-L@LISTS.PSU.EDU, 14 Dec 2008). Learn more about the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at http://www.jflalc.org/?act=tpt&id=8 .
