Title: Aotearoa Native Completes Assessment Tool for Maori Proficiency
Body: From http://kgmb9.com/main/content/view/12496/173 Revitalizing the Maori Language and Culture Written by Sunrise on KGMB9 December 18, 2008 A piece of research was just completed critical to native language programs. Aotearoa native, Katarina Edmonds, did her doctoral work at UH-Hilo's Hawaiian Language College on an issue that directly benefits the Kura Kaupapa Maori, the counterpart of Hawai'i's immersion Program. Katrina has created a tool to assess the fluency of Maori students. While such a tool helps to validate the academic rigor of native language programs, its real value is strengthening from within, not just proving something to outsiders. Both websites were created in a tongue-and-cheek manner, with the Autobahn videos going all out to confirm clichés, as they all boast cheesy traditional German music soundtracks. Learn more about the new websites at http://www.germany.info/Vertretung/usa/en/__PR/GIC/2008/12/16__Autobahn__Wurst__S.html .
