Because of the growing demand for Chinese language and culture instruction in school districts throughout the country, the US-China Higher Education Alliance has launched a project to help meet this need. We currently have about 100 Chinese teachers who have passed our initial screening and interview process and are interested in teaching Mandarin in U.S. schools. Once you let me know your interest, I will begin to communicate with you individually to ascertain your specific needs in terms of number of teachers and grade levels. Also, you might need a teacher who can teach in a second field, such as math or science, as well. The Alliance is a young organization that was established initially to assist Chinese and U.S. universities develop collaborations and to find and place Chinese undergraduate and graduate students in U.S. colleges and universities. The Alliance Executive Director is Dr. Max Chen, an experienced Chinese educator who guides our programs from our world headquarters in Flushing, NY. My background includes presidencies of a liberal arts college and an international university, and I am privileged to serve the Alliance as its Chairman. I look forward to interacting with those of you who have Chinese Language and Culture teaching needs for 2007-08. If you are not in that category but want to be added to our client prospect list for future years, I also would like to hear from you. Thank you and best regards, Richard W.
