Title: CLEAR’s Internet Sourcebooks for Business in a Foreign Language
Body: From http://nclrc.org/teaching_materials/links_to_fl_materials/last_finds.html Michigan State University’s Center for Language Education and Research (CLEAR) offers FREE "Internet Sourcebooks" for developing business foreign language in French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. One of the most notable aspects of these sites is that they are composed almost entirely in the target language! This resource is not a tool for the beginning or intermediate language learner, but is clearly intended for the more advanced learner who is ready to venture into a new field with a base of already developed language skills. Each language’s Internet sourcebook offers its own unique blend of materials and resources to develop business language proficiency in the target language. The French sourcebook is available at http://clear.msu.edu/teaching/sourcebooks/pagebusfrench/busfrench.html . The German sourcebook is available at http://clear.msu.edu/teaching/buslang/german/start.htm . The Japanese sourcebook is available at http://clear.msu.edu/teaching/buslang/japanese/index.html . The Korean sourcebook is available at http://clear.msu.edu/teaching/buslang/korean/index.html . The Spanish sourcebook is available at http://clear.msu.edu/teaching/buslang/spanish/indexspain.htm . A recent description of the sourcebooks is available from NCLRC at http://nclrc.org/teaching_materials/links_to_fl_materials/last_finds.html .

Title: Animal Activities for Lower Elementary
Body: I just finished up a unit on animals....Below are some of the activities and songs we used: Song that reviewed numbers Uno, dos, tres gatitos (or whatever the animal is you want to introduce). Game with animals on the whiteboard Introduce animals with animal pictures with two animals on whiteboard/chalkboard and ask students to touch the right animal with a fly swatter, if you have one...gradually introduce more animals to make the game harder. We played a game with animal cards (didn't try this with first grade though....only 2nd-4th grade) Ss could make small flashcards, drawing a picture of the animal for each Spanish word, unless you already have some animal picture cards you could make for the students...Ss ask a partner if they have one of the animals and their partner answers in Spanish. Ss keep asking questions until they get it correct. If you had enough animal cards, you could play Go Fish with the students. Song by Jose-Luis Orozco - Vengan a Ver Mi Granja (De Colores text) I downloaded a similar song on the internet. Ss can learn animal sounds (some are different in Spanish). I had a magnetic farm and assigned students in small groups to pretend they were the animals in the song. They got to get up and move around the classroom, following me and coming to look at the farm when the line was sung, Vengan a Ver mi granja..... Boyce, H. Re: Lower Elementary - animal activities.
