Title: Article: Lost Native Languages
Body: Lost native languages By Tina Detelj Feb. 21, 2008 Their culture is on display in museums and in classrooms across the country. But, the languages of Native Americans have been somehow lost. Now, thanks to a Connecticut tribe, they're being re-discovered. Getting a look at Native American life is easy at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum -- but what about a listen? The Mashantuckets are among 33 tribes in the Algonquian family to speak their own language. "It's really different comparing it to how we speak," Russel Foden of Westerly, Rhode Island said. Read the entire article about the museum and an upcoming conference at http://www.wtnh.com/global/story.asp?s=7907550 .
