TitlePortland Japanese Garden Holds Springtime Free Admission Day
Body
The Portland Japanese Garden in Oregon will be holding a Free Admission Day on March 25, from 10am-4pm. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to invite their friends, family, and fellow community members to visit the Garden this Free Day. Tours will be given at the top of every hour.

“Free Admission Days are now a regular part of our event offerings as we continue our efforts to open the Garden to the community,” Steve Bloom, the Garden’s Executive Director. “This is our first spring Free Admission Day, and we’re excited to share the Garden at a time when the cherry blossoms and other spring flowers are emerging.”

During Free Admission Day, the outdoor installation of the Michihiro Kosuge exhibition, The Quiet Voice of Metal and Stone will be on display. This showing of spectacular sculptures is the winter exhibition from the Garden’s 2008 Art in the Garden series. The exhibition is also free of charge.

The Portland Japanese Garden has been proclaimed by his Excellency Nobuo Matsunaga, former Ambassador of Japan, to be “the most beautiful and authentic Japanese garden in the world outside of Japan.” The Garden is above Washington Park at 611 SW Kingston Drive in SW Portland, Oregon. The Garden is open daily except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Hours are 10am-4pm October 1-March 31, and 10am-7pm April 1-September 30.
