Title: More Recommended French Radio Resources
Body: I thought I would list a few additional resources from French radio: Here is the Europe 1 podcast page: http://www.europe1.fr/podcast/podcast.jsp Some video interviews from Chérie FM: http://www.cheriefm.fr/musique/musique_list_clips.php The RTL podcast page: http://www.rtl.fr/radio/podcast.asp The RFI "langue française - apprendre / enseigner" page (le must de chez must): http://www.rfi.fr/lffr/statiques/accueil_apprendre.asp Radio Nostalgie, one of my favorite stations, but they could do much better in Web services. Their podcasts might be useful in class because of the wide variety of topics, but they might also put students to sleep. http://www.nostalgie.fr Ponterio, B. More from French radio. Title: Seeking Book Donations for CAIL Library
Body: From http://linguistlist.org/issues/17/17-2962.html Seeking Book Donations for CAIL Library The students and staff at CAIL (Center for American Indian Languages) at the University of Utah want to ask colleagues and friends to consider donating any duplicate copies or otherwise unwanted or unneeded books on Native American languages (and related topics) to the CAIL Library. The CAIL Library currently has a reasonable collection of books on the indigenous languages of the Americas, but with a greater concentration on Mesoamerica and Uto-Aztecan (with books from Wick Miller and Lyle Campbell). There are gaps in coverage for North America and for major portions of South America, and for recent books. The CAIL Library is open to the public, and also has a small associated computer laboratory (for students and visitors to the Center). Visitors are invited to use the library. Donations will be acknowledged formally (for your tax purposes), and the donor of each book will be indicated in the book. Thank you for considering helping the CAIL library. If you need additional information, please contact Nancy García, graduate student and CAIL's administrator (nancy.garciautah.edu). You can also reach us by phone (801) 587-0720, or fax (801) 585-7351. Book donations can be sent to: CAIL c/o Nancy García Dept of Linguistics University of Utah 255 S. Central Campus Dr Salt Lake City, UT 84112-0492 USA

Title: New Book: Modern Mandarin Chinese Grammar
Body: From http://linguistlist.org/issues/17/17-2959.html Title: Modern Mandarin Chinese Grammar Series Title: Modern Grammars Published: 2006 Publisher: Routledge (Taylor and Francis), http://www.routledge.com Author: Claudia Ross, College of the Holy Cross Author: Jing-Heng Ma, Wellesley College A brand new title for the Modern Grammars series to add to the existing European Languages and to the forthcoming Japanese title. The grammar will present Chinese as spoken in the People's Republic of China (specifically, that spoken around Beijing) and give all examples in simplified characters, traditional characters, romanization (pinyin) and in translation. It will follow the series structure (two parts - one for grammar structures, one for functions), with an accompanying workbook. Linguistic jargon will be kept to a minimum throughout. We will also be creating an accompanying homepage for the workbook with additional exercises (and a reporting system enabling students to send their results to their tutors); this we hope will go further to enhance the performance of the workbook.

Papers and symposia may report on data-based research, theoretical and conceptual analyses, or best practices in language teacher education.
