| Body | From http://linguistlist.org/issues/17/17-2942.html#1 Integrating Language, Linguistics, Literature and Translation in Pedagogy and Research 21-Mar-2007 - 22-Mar-2007 Muscat, Oman The major aim of the conference is to give a push towards collaboration across the four disciplines of language,linguistics, literature and translation, and show how such collaboration and cross-fertilization of ideas can lead to news ways of thinking and working. A paper (30-40 mins, followed by 10 mins of questions) may present a discussion, an analysis, findings, report on research, or an argument as the speaker sees fit. All papers should clearly based on 'a bridge' between at least two areas (language, linguistics, literature and translation). A brief presentation of about 15-20 mins should outline an issue or problematic area which is then followed by a guided discussion for max.30 mins., prepared and led by the speaker. Attendance is limited to 20 to enable maximum participation. The theme should similarly involve 'building bridges' between at least two areas (language, linguistics, literature and translation).
