Body: I am leaving my job in Deer Trail, CO and promised my Superintendent that I would post the job opening here. It is a terrific little community about 60 miles east of Denver. It is a K-12 school and the Spanish teacher would be teaching grades 1-12. You would see grades 1-6 twice a week for 1/2 an hour, 7th grade an hour a day first semester and 8th grade for an hour a day 2nd semester. Masters degree or higher in Deaf Studies, Applied Linguistics, or related field required. Applicant must have college or university teaching experience and demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language, as well as ASLTA certification and documented involvement with the Deaf community. The successful candidate will assume full responsibility for a two-year sequence of instruction in ASL, teaching six sections per year and contributing to curriculum and materials development. Title: Hispanics Account for Half of National Population Growth
Body: Half of the growth in the U.S. population from 2000 to 2004 occurred among Hispanics, according to a Census Bureau report filed last week. The Hispanic population also tends to be younger and of lower socio-economic status than non-Hispanics. Those characteristics, in combination with the high number of illegal immigrants, seem to be delaying the surge in the Hispanic voting population predicted by many.
