Title: Websites for German Radio
Body: An AATG listserv user asked, “Can anyone suggest any websites where students might listen to German radio broadcasts?” Responses included the following resources: -http://www.swr3.de/startpage/index.html -http://www.br-online.de/bayern3 -http://www.surfmusik.de -http://www.dasding.de -http://www.fritz.de -A search for online radio stations in Germany is available at http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/nation?ccode=de&sid=&go.x=11&go.y=4 . -A map-based search for online stations is available at http://www.ard.de/radio/alle-wellen/-/id=135130/14o6sfo/index.html , and a concept-based list is available by clicking on ARD RadioNet at http://www.ard.de/radio/-/id=1884/84w4up/index.html . --- -Mike's Radio world website will get you stations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland--even Luxembourg and (on good days) Liechtenstein. There are also German language stations in Spain! Most music is in English, however, so you'll want to choose News or Talk stations for learning German. If you want songs in German try the RadioGoethe website (from California). Tol,K. [AATG-L] german radio websites. Title: Reading and Math Websites for Young English Language Learners
Body: A TESLK-12 listserv user asked for favorite websites for teaching reading and math skills to 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders that they can use at home on their own. Suggestions included the following: --- One of my favorite sites for beginning readers is starfall.com . Re: [TESLK-12] Websites for 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. Teachers of English as a Second Language to Children listserv (TESLK-12@LISTSERV.CUNY.EDU, 8 Dec 2006). --- I recommend the website below for students who want to practice basic math facts. It doesn't do any real teaching, but it's the best web site I've found for math drills--students can time themselves so they can track their progress--sure beats flash cards. home.indy.rr.com/lrobinson/mathfacts/mathfacts.html Gottschalk, B.
