Title: Travel Opportunity: Alfa Fellowship Program in Russia
Body: From http://www.cdsintl.org/fromusa/alfa.htm CDS International is currently accepting applications for the Alfa Fellowship Program, a year-long program beginning in March 2007, including seven-months of language training (three-month tutor program in the U.S. and four-month intensive course in Moscow). Qualified candidates must have completed at least beginning Russian to be eligible. Candidates already fluent in Russian will not participate in the U.S.-based language training and will travel with the rest of the group to Russia in June 2007 for the Moscow Seminar Program, language training and professional assignment phases, which run through April 2008. Title: Visual Contest for Students
Body: From http://www.ccflt.org/contests/viscon.htm Foreign Language Awareness Visual Contest To celebrate ACTFL’s Discover Languages public awareness campaign, CCFLT is seeking student artwork for our Foreign Language Awareness Visual Contest. Our theme is, “If you see it, you think foreign languages!” Each entry must be the work of an individual student. No group entries will be accepted. Entries must be comprised of 2-dimensional artwork; however, an original photo of a 3-dimensional project would be appropriate. The visual may not contain wording or letters of any sort. Entries will be judged in four age categories: pre-K - grade 5, grades 6-8, grades 9- 12, and university level. All entries will be judged according to the rubric posted at this link. One of the educational games is an online storyboard creation program, in which the user chooses the character, the action, and the setting, then fills in squares on a storyboard with characters, background music, typed dialogue, and different backgrounds.
