Body: Two classes of English language learners are now checking out video iPods from their school library to assist them in their studies of math, science, and social studies. The students receive the iPods in the afternoon, view Podcasts at home, and return them the next morning. Papers of original and unpublished research are invited on all aspects in the domains of theoretical linguistics, sociolinguistics, and language acquisition of Spanish, Portuguese, or other Iberian languages. The course is designed to acquaint practicing teachers of EFL in diverse countries with the main elements and trends in applied linguistics, concentrating on recent second language acquisition research and current views of teaching and learning in the EFL classroom. Participants will also attend the SLA Summit on the 28th at no extra cost. Cost: around £1450 including course fees, accommodation and lunches. One free place will be awarded to an applicant who could not otherwise attend.
