Body | From http://www.ncl.ac.uk/ecls/summerschools/index.htm Summer School in Applied Linguistics 17th-28th JULY 2006 DIRECTOR PROFESSOR VIVIAN COOK A two week summer course in applied linguistics for practising teachers of EFL and MA-level students in applied linguistics. The course is designed to acquaint practicing teachers of EFL in diverse countries with the main elements and trends in applied linguistics, concentrating on recent second language acquisition research and current views of teaching and learning in the EFL classroom. Participants will also attend the SLA Summit on the 28th at no extra cost. Cost: around £1450 including course fees, accommodation and lunches. One free place will be awarded to an applicant who could not otherwise attend. SLA Summit 28th JULY 2006 MODELS OF SECOND LANGUAGE ACQUISITION This annual one-day event allows well-known authorities on second language acquisition to provide state-of-the-art presentations of their particular positions.
