Proposals should address issues and innovations in technology-enhanced language instruction, with a special focus on motivating the language learner. We encourage participation not only from colleagues at universities but also community colleges and high schools. Deadline for proposals: November 30, 2005. Topics can include but are not limited to the following: * pedagogical programs and techniques * challenges of technology and teaching at different levels and institutions * student-centered learning * distance learning * course management programs involving testing, homework submission, teacher-student communication, etc. * streamed audio and video distribution * distribution of materials for less commonly taught languages * cultural communication. Title: Invitation to Participate: French Pilot Study
Body: The Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS), a National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC), has developed an online assessment of listening proficiency. This is known as the French Assessment of Listening Proficiency (ALP) pilot test. CASLS is recruiting teachers who would like to experience a state-of-the-art assessment tool. Beginning November 18, 2005, this pilot will introduce your students to real-life conversations and will challenge them at their level (i + 1). PLEASE NOTE: This assessment is appropriate for students from grades six to twelve and all college levels.
