Title: Foreign Language Study Promotion Idea
Body: The following suggestion for a classroom activity promoting foreign language study was recently posted on the FLTEACH listserv. ----- At the end of last year, I had my students write a letter to a friend or design a poster (8 1/2 x 11) that I could use to sell German. I think that catches other kids attention more than a lot of other things. I'm going to put these together (scan the mini-posters) and send them to the counselors at the middle school and the fifth grade teachers. Wurm, W. Title: Online Activity Planner - Quia
Body: Editor's note: A recent query on the FLTEACH listserv regarding software for Spanish activities received the reply below. The site provides a variety of services for needs such as administration, creating surveys, and class Web pages. The languages featured include Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Hebrew, and Latin, and topics such as math and geography are also included. ----- After extensive research I found... a website called www.quia.com where you can design your own quizzes and games for the kids. It costs a little bit of money per year but your budget should cover it. Hahnel, S. Re: Spanish software. Foreign Language Teaching Forum listserv. FLTEACH@LISTSERV.BUFFALO.EDU (23 Jan. 2005).
