The conference aims at providing an opportunity for researchers and teachers of Vietnamese to present their research results and share their experiences in teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language, to network and exchange their works with other scholars in the field as well as with other IATV members. Another aim of the conference is to encourage discussion among professionals with the view to promote collaboration in researching and teaching of Vietnamese as a foreign language across Vietnamese teaching and researching institutions worldwide.

Body: Rice University seeks applications for the position of Language Resource Center Manager. To apply for this position, please visit our website at https://jobs.rice.edu The primary role of this position is to manage the day to day operation of the Language Resource Center (LRC), a state of the art facility providing technology for the learning of languages and cultures. The manager is responsible for hiring, training, and overseeing a student workforce of up to twenty student staff. This includes the training of student staff in the use of foreign language software programs, and digitization and streaming of audio/video material for language courses. Other responsibilities include the teaching of language specific software programs to language classes and one-on-one instruction of software and equipment to faculty and students. The manager maintains LRC inventories of the following: equipment, CDs and DVDs, and a comprehensive textbook library, journals and pedagogical materials. S/he oversees completion of LRC requests by tracking, researching, processing, receiving and digitizing faculty purchase orders and work requests. S/he ensures LRC compliance with license agreements, copyright guidelines, and doctrine of fair use. The Language Resource Center Manager has budgetary responsibilities including expenditures, transfer, student payroll, business entertainment and travel statements.
