Body: From http://www.springer.com/education+%26+language/linguistics/book/978-90-481-9206-9 Variation in the Input: Studies in the Acquisition of Word Order Edited by Merete Anderseen, Kristine Bentzen, and Marit Westergaard Publisher: Springer Summary: This book focuses on how different types of variation are expressed in the input and how this is acquired by young children. The collection of papers includes studies of the acquisition of variation in a number of different languages, including English, German, Greek, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Swiss German, Ukrainian, and American Sign Language. Title: Book: Formulaic Language and Second Language Speech Fluency
Body: From http://www.continuumbooks.com/books/detail.aspx?BookId=157563&SearchType=Basic Formulaic Language and Second Language Speech Fluency Background, Evidence and Classroom Applications by David Wood Published by Continuum Description: This volume presents a comprehensive look at the phenomenon of formulaic language (multi-word units believed to be mentally stored and retrieved as single units) and its role in fluent speech production. Focusing on second language speech, the book provides an overview of research into the role of formulaic language in fluency, details a study which provides evidence of that role, and outlines teaching plans and strategies to foster it. This important area has not been examined in such depth and scope before, and this work has many implications for future research and language pedagogy. It will appeal to researchers in discourse analysis and second language acquisition. Go to the publisher’s website at http://www.continuumbooks.com/books/detail.aspx?BookId=157563&SearchType=Basic
