Theme: Diversity of Japanese Language Education Sponsored by: The Japan Foundation Alberta Learning For English-speaking high school teachers of Japanese, we are planning a seminar/workshop, lectures, and group discussions for the information exchange in English on August 23rd (Saturday). We are also planning a day trip to Banff on the last day of the conference. Even if you are not a CAJLE member, you can attend the conference on the 23rd and/or 24th (Banff) as a visitor. Title: Foreign Language Position
Body: From: We have a full time, permanent foreign language position at Walpole High School which is the result of increased enrollment for next year. The position includes four classes of Spanish (with possibility of teaching Spanish V) and one class of either Latin I or French II. Another possible combination would be three classes of beginning Spanish and two classes of French II. Our department is very strong (our enrollment exceeds the school population of 975 by one hundred students!) and enjoys great support from the administration and community. We teach in a newly renovated high school and have a five year old SONY language lab. Modern language classes use the lab at least once every week for 35 minutes (half a block).
