Title: New Brochure: The Counselor's Guide to German
Body: The Goethe-Institut USA is proud to present "The Counselor's Guide to German," a brand new brochure specifically designed for guidance and career counselors in the secondary schools. With the precarious situation of language enrollments, budget cuts and general school politics, German is one of the first casualties of school curricula. This brochure will hopefully either reinforce (or introduce) the study of German as a viable option for students. The brochure is available in .pdf format online at http://www.goethe.de/newyork and is a joint effort of the Goethe-Institut (USA), AATG, DAAD, ZfA and GIC. Hard copies are also available (in limited quantities) from your regional Goethe-Institut location (Boston, NY, Washington, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco). Leavitt, J.G. [AATG-L] Counselor's Guide to German. American Association of Teachers of German listserv. AATG@listserv.iupui.edu (7 Apr. 2006).

Title: EUROCALL 2006
Body: From http://www.eurocall2006.com EUROCALL 2006 4-7 September, Granada, Spain Integrating CALL into Study Programmes EUROCALL 2006 focuses on "Integrating CALL into Study Programmes" and will be held in the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Granada, Spain. Language learning looks to be gravitating more and more towards digital technologies, and the challenge for language educators all over the world appears to fall into one of two categories: to update and extend their existing methodologies, or create and introduce new technologies into their language delivery systems very often with little experience and few resources. The challenge, therefore, varies from region to region, but the goal is a common one: to integrate computer technology into the language learning process. Title: Alaskans Seek Native Language Programs
Body: Groups of Native Alaskans and descendants of Russian settlers in rural Alaska are asking administrators to create or continue existing heritage language programs instead of offering Spanish or other foreign languages.
