Title: Cuban Music Recommendation
Body: For those of you teaching about Cuba or interested in the plight of the Cuban people, you might want to pick up the following Willy Chirino CD: Willy Chirino Cubanísimo. The entire CD relates to the plight of the Cuban people. Some songs are very lighthearted and fun while others will bring tears to your eyes, especially if you're Cuban or you have left your "patria" (mother land) and can identify/relate with Cubans. In any case it is great music!!! His website is http://www.willychirino.com and you can hear many of his songs there. Disclaimer: I do not know Willy Chirino nor am I in any way associated with him. I'm just a fellow Cuban who is very moved by his beautiful music. Clark, V. Cuban music recommendation. Foreign Language Teaching Forum listserv. FLTEACH@LISTSERV.BUFFALO.EDU (27 Mar. 2006).

Title: Scholarships Still Available for German Teachers' Seminar
Body: Attention German Teachers! There are still two full scholarships available for German teachers for the teacher seminar at Concordia Language Villages. Having personally attended the seminar, I can highly recommend it. Not only do you get great teaching ideas, but you also have numerous opportunities to visit the camps and see immersion in action! Probably the best part of the seminar, though, is the chance to talk and collaborate with other teachers. The seminar will run from July 5 - 15, in Bemidiji, MN (where you can come face to face with Paul Bunyan and Babe!) If you are interested, contact Laurie Loomis, Administrative Assistant at 1 - 218 - 299 - 4179 or email her at loomis@cord.edu . I would be happy to give you more information as well. Title: German Literature Seminar (Deadline: April 15)
Body: I wanted to remind others who might be interested in Loyola's long-established and excellent BERLIN LITERATURSEMINAR, run by Ursula Beitter, that the deadline is April 15. http://www.evergreen.loyola.edu/~ubeitter/ubcgls.html I attended this several years ago and it was one of the best seminars I have ever attended. Hearing prominent authors in an intimate and informal (luxurious!) setting in person was simply an unparalleled experience! I found it both personally and professionally very enriching. I have learned that there are only a few openings left, but that if we don't fill them, the seminar won't 'make' this year. Don't miss this marvelous opportunity! Veteto, M.R.
