Title: Affecting Language Policy: Start With Your Language Orientation
Body:

From: http://blog.tesol.org/affecting-language-policy-start-with-your-language-orientation/

This blog post encourages reflection about how group and institutional language orientations affect how languages are taught, how learners are treated, and how educational policy is created and enacted. The post discusses how the framing of three distinct language orientations (language as problem, language as right, and language as resource) affect educational policies, and calls teachers to take an active role in shaping these policies in their own workspaces. While of interest to any teacher, this resource would be especially useful for teachers in the process of examining, updating or changing educational policy around language learning in their school or institution.
