Title: Using the Internet to Teach English
Body: Editor's note: This post to the NETEACH listserv recommends some Web sites which may be useful for teachers wanting to incorporate the Internet into their classrooms. ----- Here are a couple of blogs I've created which may be of use: http://www.englishblog.com has details of useful sites for teaching and learning English. http://www.filmblog.biz is concerned with using movies as a teaching and learning resource. In my experience, students enjoy doing Internet-based activities but they have to have a minimum of guidance. You can do loads of activities using the Internet. It's particularly good for listening practice. See http://www.englishnetlinks.com for a list of site organized in categories. Hill, J. Re: [NETEACH-L] teaching and Internet. Neteach-L listserv. Title: Job Posting: MS German Sub, OH
Body: Oakhills Local School, located on the west side of Cincinnati, is looking for a full-time substitute for German in the middle school (Bridgetown Middle School). The sub would be needed as early as late April but most probably all of May and the first week in June. While not a long term sub position, this opportunity could grow into much more. The district's German program is booming and we are anticipating the need to hire a new German teacher for our high school in the near future. Please pass this message along to anyone who might be interested. http://www.oakhills.k12.oh.us/district/hr/postings/substitute.html You can find out about the district and about Bridgetown at: http://www.oakhills.k12.oh.us Marion, B. Title: Check Your German Online
Body: Do you want to check your German? Go to the Spiegel website: http://www.spiegel.de Choose the "Kultur" - section. Scroll down a third of the page and on the left side you will find the quiz "Sprechen Sie Deutsch?" If you have read "Der Dativ ist dem Genetiv sein Feind" by Bastian Sick, this quiz should be a piece for cake for you. Well, it was not for me! I still made a few mistakes! And I am a native speaker. So don't be discouraged. It is a lot of fun though, even if you have not had a chance to read Sick's book. Schmid-Rankin, S. [AATG-L] Check your German!
