Title: Call for Papers: II International Conference on Revitalization of Indigenous and Minoritized Languages
Body:

From https://linguistlist.org/issues/30/30-1332.html

II International Conference on Revitalization of Indigenous and Minoritized Languages
October 1-4, 2019
Brasilia, Brazil

Following the first edition of the Conference (Barcelona, 2017), the mission of the Second International Conference on Indigenous and Minorized Languages Revitalization (2018) is to bring together instructors, practitioners, indigenous leaders, academics and students who speak and study these languages. This international conference includes research, pedagogy and practice on the diverse languages and cultures of indigenous and minority populations around the world. This International Conference involves participants in a global dialogue and also serves as a forum for networking and exchange of ideas, experiences and research on issues of language revitalization from interdisciplinary perspectives. In other words, your mission is to exchange different ideas and experiences that will transcend the walls of academia and find space in the broader global community, giving all participants an opportunity to share their multiple ways of being, seeing, knowing and learning.

The Laboratory of Indigenous Languages and Literature of the University of Brasília (LALLI), the Faculdade de Ciências e Letras – UNESP, Câmpus de Araraquara, the Grup d’Estudi de Llengùˆes Amenaçades (GELA) at Universitat de Barcelona, the Federal University of Rondônia-Ji-Paraná, invite proposals for panels, individual papers, roundtable discussions, interactive workshops, poster sessions, and instructional technology showcases to be presented at the Second International Conference on Revitalization of Indigenous and Minoritized Languages.

Successful proposals will clearly indicate the relationship of the presentation to the core conference themes. Presentations should provide an opportunity for conference participants to engage with some of the challenging and fundamental questions at the intersection of theory, research and praxis.

The call deadline is April 30, 2019.

2019 American Classical League Centennial Institute
New York City
Pre-Institute: June 26-27
Institute: June 27-29

The ACL Summer Institute is an experience unlike any other Classics conference, one that enables Latin teachers and Classicists to mingle, interact, and genuinely get to know each other. Presentations at Institute range from 30 to 60 to 90 minutes so that everyone there has a chance to let a new idea really take root and to give plenty of time for everyone to ask questions or to truly do a workshop. In between sessions, there are frequent opportunities to meet others in the exhibit hall and gathering spaces. There are, moreover, scholarships to help support travel to New York City and participation in the Centennial Institute.

Title: Workshop: Foreign Language and the Literary in the Everyday
Body:

From https://umarket.utah.edu/um2/l2trec/product.php?product=26&storecookie=1

FLLITE Workshop
June 10-11, 2019
University of Utah

The FLLITE project, a collaboration of COERLL (University of Texas at Austin) and CERCLL (University of Arizona), helps teachers to bridge the language/literature divide by developing their own literacy lessons as open educational resources (OER). Rather than focusing on canonical literature, FLLITE lessons focus on the poetics of everyday language (e.g., conversations, letters, blogs, YouTube videos, etc.). In brief, the goal of this workshop is to help foreign language teachers develop original materials based on authentic texts that promote language awareness and communicative abilities through the integration of reading, listening, speaking, and writing tasks.
