The Federal policy statement recognizes the cultural and linguistic assets of this population of children, and provides important resources and recommendations to the early childhood field to ensure that our nation’s early education programs are accessible to these families, and that they appropriately foster the learning and development of this large and growing group of children.

Title: TEQ Video #9: Zhangyi Shi’s Chinese Class at Collegiate School in Virginia
Body:

From http://asiasociety.org/china-learning-initiatives/teq-series

Each year, Asia Society selects 5–10 Chinese teachers as Teaching Fellows. These selected teachers create, develop, and polish lesson plans. Asia Society then films the classroom of each selected teacher, and edits these to guide viewers to think and reflect on what they are observing in each video, to try and bridge the gap between instructional standards and classroom implementation. Part of Asia Society's professional development series for educators, these instructional videos for Chinese language teachers aim to share best practices in the field of Chinese language teaching.

The latest video in the series features Zhangyi Shi's intermediate-low Chinese class at Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia. You can see it at http://asiasociety.org/china-learning-initiatives/zhangyi-shis-high-school-intermediate-low-chinese-class
