Title: Summer Study Abroad Opportunity at the Dakar Institute of African Studies

The Dakar Institute of African Studies is currently accepting applications for our 2015 summer study abroad program in Dakar, Senegal. The program is open to all students attending an accredited American institution and who are interested in issues pertaining to Africa. It is of particular interest to French/Francophone Studies and African Studies majors. The Francophone Studies program offers classes in French while our African Studies program is in English. All students will be staying with Senegalese families.

The Summer Institute for Israel Studies has trained over 225 faculty at colleges and universities to design courses on Israel Studies. Recent participants teach history, international relations, arts, Jewish studies, religion, law, anthropology, linguistics, and security studies.

Competitive fellowships are open to faculty members in the humanities and social sciences.

Applications are due by January 20, 2015.

The Schusterman Center for Israel Studies is dedicated to promoting exemplary teaching and scholarship in Israeli history, politics, culture, and society at Brandeis University and beyond. To that end, the Schusterman Center supports and mentors graduate students at Brandeis University who focus on Israel Studies. These full and partial fellowships are granted on a competitive basis to doctoral candidates who have been accepted into the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

The 1990 Institute's inaugural national online video contest, Youth Voices on China (YVOC), encourages U.S. middle school, high school and college students to think more broadly about U.S.-China relations and seek balanced viewpoints.

U.S. students and student teams of all backgrounds and of ages between 13-24 are invited to submit a short, creative, thought-provoking video of 2 to 3 minutes' length on a China topic that relates to the 2014-15 contest theme: "What's China? Why Understanding China Is Important to My Future."
