If you are a member in Colorado, this message is for you!

As the Executive Director for Colorado German Day, I am sending out a call for teachers interested in participating with students, teachers who'd just like to volunteer or anyone else interested in taking part in our 5th annual competition. Modeled after similar competitions in Texas and Alabama, students from across the state can compete in 24 different events in one fun-filled day. Our event this year takes place on Saturday, March 10 and if you are interested in participating or more information, please contact me at coloradogermanday@gmail.com.

Title: SCRIBO: An International Latin Composition Contest

SCRIBO is an international Latin composition contest, designed to:

  • spur interest and excitement in using Latin for creative writing
  • provide teachers with high quality materials in Latin to read in their classes
  • honor and recognize top work in Latin creative writing

Students of Latin in any grade, from kindergarten through college, may participate. Entries will be sorted into the following levels, which are based on length of time studying Latin and content of the course: Exploratory, Lower, and Upper.
