Title: Unicode Rohingya Script Being Developed

The language of the persecuted minority Rohingya will be digitized
by Aamna Mohdin
December 20, 2017
The Rohingya, the persecuted Muslim ethnic minority in Myanmar, will soon be able to text, write emails, and post online in their own language.
The move marks a big step for a group of stateless people who have long been denied recognition—in real life and online. The script of the Rohingya language will be included in the next version of Unicode, the international standard for encoding characters and symbols on computers.
“After I learned about the Hanifi Rohingya script in 2011, I wanted to make sure that the people who use the script would someday have a chance to use it on computers,” says Anshuman Pandey, a US-based language technologist who conducted the research to develop the Rohingya script for Unicode standard.

Title: "After the Escape": Documentary about Refugees in Germany
Body:
From http://www.dw.com/en/after-the-escape-dw-documentary-about-exile-and-integration-launches/a-41879317
“No one understood us and we didn’t understand anyone. The only thing that we could say in German was ‘Lothar Matthäus,’” said German-Bosnian author Saša Stanišic, who came to Germany as a refugee.
Stanišic is one of five protagonists in “After the Escape.” These cultural personalities reflect in a virtuous, poetic and intelligent way about their experiences as refugees trying to find their way in a new place. They hail from four continents, fled war, disaster or persecution only to land in a foreign country.
Four of them ended up in Germany: Syrian pianist Aeham Ahmad, Nigerian-German musician Nneka Egbuna, Chilean author and director Antonio Skármeta and Stanišic. Writer Judith Kerr, who fled Nazi Germany for England, also talks about her experiences after the escape.
