| Body | "Descubre el español II" is a daily live, interactive course that includes 178 class sessions and extensive support services. The course is taught by veteran distance learning teacher, Lynn Fulton-Archer, who has studied and worked in Spain and brings a realistic approach to learning Spanish. This proficiency-oriented class is designed to introduce basic vocabulary and the fundamentals of the Spanish language to students in Middle and High School. It emphasizes the National Standards of "communication, cultures, connections, comparisons and communities" and encourages students to communicate through various modes of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Grammar is presented as it is needed to carry out a variety of language functions that students visiting a Spanish-speaking country might encounter. Cultural aspects of the language, such as history, music, art and architecture, are presented along the way. In addition to the television course, a variety of services are available on this web site for course facilitators, students and parents.
