Using the Web for Communicative Language Learning
June 27–July 31, 2019
Five-week online (asynchronous) institute
 
Participants will discover ways to use online tools to promote student language comprehension and production by motivating their participation and collaboration in the target language. During this five-week asynchronous online institute, participants will:
 
• Learn to select technology tools appropriate for interpretive, presentational, and interpersonal activities; 
• Create interpretive, presentational, and interpersonal activities that incorporate technology tools and digital multimedia materials; and
• Design lesson plans using flipped lesson ideas to incorporate online technologies.

The Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA) at the University of Minnesota provides high-quality professional development opportunities for language teachers through its annual summer institute program.
