TitleA Classicist at NASA
Body

From https://eidolon.pub/one-giant-leap-for-latin-70ae05faf1d4

EL Meszaros talks about the utility of her background as a Classicist now that she works for NASA. She writes, "What I hope my work for NASA has demonstrated is that linguistic study, philology, and the Classics can all contribute to ongoing scientific research. While current emphasis — institutional, governmental, maybe even familial — is on STEM education, contributions to science can and should come from many disciplines. Rather than continuing to enforce an artificial divide, and subscribing to the 'two worlds problem,' we should embrace interdisciplinarity. Science can benefit from the humanities not only by informing pedagogical and dissemination techniques, but also by offering new viewpoints, tools, and millennia of disciplined learning and unbridled creativity to attack any problem."
