The U.S. State Department funded Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) is for motivated high school students who want to fully immerse themselves in German culture by living with a host family and attending a local high school. No previous language experience is required. 

The 2019-20 CBYX high school application period is now open. CBYX is administered by a partnership of non-profit exchange organizations: AFS-USA, ASSE, CIEE, and YFU USA. To learn more about CBYX in your state, including information about eligibility and how to apply for the 2019-20 academic year, visit www.usagermanyscholarship.org and select your state from the "apply online" menu. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM Pacific on December 11, 2018.
