Title: Website: Colors of Classical Art
Body:
From http://www.indiana.edu/~iuam/online_modules/colors/about.php
The Colors of Classical Art exhibit is the result of a close collaboration between the Indiana University Art Museum and the Department of the History of Art. The exhibition showcases artworks from the museum's permanent collection from the perspective of color, an aspect of ancient art that is often under-represented in art historical literature. The accompanying website was developed both to enhance the experience of the visitor to the exhibition and to provide access to the exhibition for those unable to attend in person; it also is intended to stand alone as a resource on the techniques, artistic uses, and cultural significance of color in ancient art after the exhibition closes.

Title: Core Practices for World Language Teachers
Body:
Alaina Post writes, "Last year, the Kentucky World Language Association (KWLA) commissioned several leaders in world language learning to write a series of articles for Kentucky Teacher highlighting the six core practices in Eileen Glisan's "The Teacher's Handbook." These practices are designed to help world language teachers provide their students with a pathway to proficiency.
"I used the practices explained in the KWLA series to reflect upon my teaching regularly. I also have used the articles as professional training for a new colleague. Last summer, when my school hired a new teacher, the first thing I thought of to orient her with the proficiency-based teaching at our school was this series. And because Kentucky lacks funding for world language professional development, I am suggesting using the core practice series as a sort of self-serve professional development course for teachers.
"I invite you to use the information presented here as a guide to determine which core practice articles will best serve you and your departments. In the following sections, I will provide examples of what I have asked myself that led me to look for the answers that are now easily accessible in the core practice articles. I also have compiled a quick guide with links to the original content published last year on Kentucky Teacher."
Read Ms. Post's summaries of the core practices and access the original articles at http://www.kentuckyteacher.org/subjects/global-competency-world-languages/2018/03/a-guide-to-professional-development-for-world-language-teachers/

Title: When Cheating Is More Work than Learning
Body:
From http://www.pblinthetl.com/
Laura K. Sexton doesn't catch her Spanish student cheating very often any more. She writes, "I'm not some mastermind who has figured out all of the latest tricks for sneaking a peek at a translator during assignments or assessments. I just think for the most part I've finally made it easier for them NOT to cheat. I don't think it has anything to do with fear of being caught either: it's just that it would take them more time and effort to look up the answer than to figure it out on their own."
She continues, "I figure there are four things any language teacher could do to make cheating a thing of the past:
"Establish proper "time and place" policies for aides.
Over prepare before assessments.
Discuss a range of appropriate targets.
Monitor assessment scrupulously."
