"Who is this Schiller [now]?"
Friedrich Schiller 1759-1805-2009

California State University Long Beach
The Karl Anatol Center for Faculty Development
Thursday September 10-Sunday September 12, 2009

The life and works of Friedrich Schiller (1759-1805)--one of Germany's first historians, an important aesthetic theorist, and an international dramatist and poet for the ages--are among the best known of German and world literature. The 2009 Long Beach Schiller Colloquium seeks to promote debate on the many flash-points and canonical reception shifts in the cyclically polarized reception of Schiller and his works.

The event is open to the public at no cost.
