TitleNCELA Call for Papers: Preparation and Professional Development (PD) of Teachers of ELLs in K-12

The winter 2009 issue of AccELLerate! will focus on the preparation and professional development (PD) of teachers of English Language Learners in K-12. NCELA is soliciting contributions from ESL and content area teachers, administrators, researchers, and others that work with this population. NCELA particularly welcomes submissions from recipients of OELA’s National Professional Development grants.

Articles should not exceed 1000 words, should be grounded in the research base and be clearly and cogently written. Topics may include the knowledge and skills which enable teachers to meet the needs of ELL students, the implementation of effective PD at the school, district or state level, promising practices for measuring the outcomes of professional development, and collaborative models of professional development.

Submissions should be received by email by October 14, 2009. Please provide the name, title, and affiliation of all authors, as well as a contact telephone number and email address. Submissions or questions should be directed to Natalia Romanova, editor of AccELLerate! at romanova@gwu.edu.
