The network was created to facilitate the communication between German scholars and scientists working in North America, them thus enabling to interact with the expatriate community, to improve the flow of information and to provide general support. The project is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF) and is based on close cooperation between the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, The German Academic Exchange Service and the German Research Foundation (DFG).
