| Body | The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida recently published the "2003 Racial and Gender Report Card: A comprehensive analysis of hiring practices of the National Basketball Asso.; National Football League; National Hockey League; Major League Baseball; Major League Soccer; Women's National Basketball Asso.; NCAA and it's members" by Richard Lapchick. A quote from the report summary: "After years of tracking at least annual incremental progress in previous reports, the 2003 Racial and Gender Report Card covers perhaps the worst overall two-year period of declines for women and, in some cases for people of color, in the report's history. This is a disappointing reversal from the 2001 Report, when historically best hiring records were noted both on the basis of race and gender."
