TitleProfessional Development Opportunity for German Teachers: TraiNDaF II: The Second Generation
Body
From http://www.aatg.org/prof-development/67-traindaf/630-traindaf-ii-the-second-generation

In 2001 the AATG in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut established the Transatlantisches interkulturelles Nachwuchsförderungsprogramm Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TraiNDaF) which trained a total of 97 future leaders in the field of teaching German in the four years of the program.

Owing to the success of the first generation of TraiNDaF classes (2001-2004), the AATG is piloting a program for a second generation of TraiNDaF participants. As with the initial TraiNDaF classes, participants in this pilot program will develop leadership skills, learn effective strategies to advocate and promote the study of German, and engage in discussions about professional issues facing German on a local, regional, and national level.

Participants must be available to attend the three-day professional development workshop and “Sustaining the Momentum” task force meeting in Chicago at the Goethe-Institut September 11-13, 2009, for which AATG will cover expenses (travel, lodging, and per diem).

AATG invites instructors on all levels who have taught full-time for at least three consecutive years to apply for this pilot program. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have taught for less than 10 years.

This opportunity is open to current AATG members from the AATG Midwest Region (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin).

Applications must be received by AATG by June 30, 2009. Candidates will be informed by mid-July.
