This institute is specifically designed for K-8 foreign language teachers. Presented by an experienced foreign-language teacher, this three-day course focuses on curriculum development and incorporates new methods for communicative language teaching. Participants will design content-based thematic units to enhance their current curricula. In addition, they will engage in hands-on activities, observe demonstration lessons, and explore a variety of instructional strategies to promote students’ skills in interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication... The text used for the Institute is Language and Children: Making the Match by Helena Curtain and Carol Ann Pesola-Dahlberg.
