Body | From http://www.asiasociety.org/education/pgl/forum Asia Society's Partnership for Global Learning is hosting its second annual "Putting the World into World-Class Education" Forum from July 9-11 in Arlington, Virginia. Keynote speakers include Linda Darling-Hammond, professor of education, Stanford University; Tony Wagner, author of The Global Achievement Gap; Andreas Schleicher, OECD's top expert on international benchmarking and best practices; Yong Zhao, world leader on technology and global education; and Orville Shell, distinguished leader of joint U.S. - China efforts on environmental sustainability and climate change. Over thirty break-out sessions will focus on developing global elementary, secondary, and afterschool programs; learning from international best practices; teaching global issues such as climate change and the global economy; integrating global competencies in state standards; promoting global literacy through international books and early language programs; connecting students to the world through service learning and technology; and new directions in national policy.
