Body
From http://www.cal.org/heritage/research/voices.html

The Alliance for the Advancement of Heritage Languages has developed the Heritage Voices Collection, an online series designed to allow heritage language speakers and programs to share their unique voices with visitors to our Web site. The Heritage Voices Collection will highlight profiles on both programs and languages and are designed to help build community among all those interested in preserving our rich heritage of language resources.

Tagalog is the first language highlighted in Heritage Voices series. Written by Valerie Malabonga, a Tagalog speaker who maintains close ties to the Philippines, Valerie provides interesting information about the language and describes why it is important to her and her family to maintain their cultural identity. Download the Tagalog article from http://www.cal.org/heritage/research/voices_tagalog.pdf .

The first program highlighted as part of the new Heritage Voices series is Escuela Bolivia in Arlington, Virginia. Escuela Bolivia seeks to develop the Spanish language and cultural knowledge of Spanish-speaking students in Virginia through a number of different opportunities. Download the description of the school from http://www.cal.org/heritage/research/voices_escuela_bolivia.pdf .
