Title | Freedom Without Walls: Website Commemorating the Fall of the Berlin Wall |
Body | The fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989 was followed by German reunification in 1990. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall Germany.info has created a new web special at Germany.info which will be updated over the course of the year with additional features, including a series of profiles of prominent East Germans, as well as a calendar of cultural events detailing related exhibitions and happenings across the United States. Next fall, Germany.info will also showcase outstanding academic and creative contributions from the Freedom Without Walls Campus Weeks 2009 taking place with the support of the German Embassy and German Information Center USA at universities across the country. Student presentations and art projects looking back at this pivotal moment in human history will be shared via interactive online platforms as well as highlighted at Germany.info.
