Title | Idea: Funny Warmups |
Body | Richard Russell offers the following suggestion for warmups on his blog, Richard’s Ruminations: --- Instead of beginning classes with a grammar warm-up, why not begin with a joke in Spanish? Jokes in Spanish are readily available on the web. Rather than have students translate the joke word-for-word, ask that the first person to understand the joke explain it. I give Spanish "dólares" (redeemable for prizes) to whoever comes up with the correct explanation. One can facilitate the understanding of the jokes by including the "joke vocabulary" on an initial assignment at the beginning of the week, perhaps on a homework assignment. Access this blog and its many resources at http://ideas.lang-learn.us/russell?itemid=1129 . --- Looking for sources of jokes to implement this idea? Here is a website with jokes in French: http://parolesfr.kiev.ua/anecdotefr.php . |
