| Body | Free IT Training Course for Teachers of Japanese Language 2009 Correspondence Course "How to Create Web Pages / Websites" Instructions done in English and Japanese!! Windows and Mac compatible this time!! The organizer of the 2009 Japanese Web Page Contest would like to invite teachers of Japanese to participate in a free five-week correspondence course "How to Create a Website and Web Pages Using KompoZer and Yahoo Geocities". This course is offered free of charge and participation in the Web Page Contest is NOT required. 195 teachers from all over the world participated in last year's course. This course is offered to teachers of Japanese anywhere in the world. The participants will acquire solid skills and the necessary knowledge to create web pages and websites so that they can have their own website for their classroom use. The entire course will be done using free software and free web space so there will be absolutely no cost involved. The weekly instructional materials include step-by-step illustrations to make it easier to follow the instructions. The participants will receive instructional material (including a weekly task) every week for five weeks by email. Each participant will follow the instructions and build a simple website from week 1. The course instructor will visit each participant's website on the Internet to check the progress and provide help and support if needed. You will need to spend an average of 2 to 3 hours per week to go over the instructions and to finish the task. What will be taught? - Creating web pages using free software "KompoZer" - Managing a website using "Yahoo Geocities" free web space - Making and using multi-media materials such as graphics, sound clips and video clips for your website Pre-requisites If you feel comfortable using MS Word, then you are ready to take the course.
