| Title | Lemelson Graduate Fellowships to Promote Indonesian Studies |
| Body | Through the generous gift of Dr. Robert Lemelson, the UCLA Center for Southeast Asian Studies is pleased to announce the availability of fellowships to support research in Indonesian Studies. The funding is available to all UCLA graduate students, at both the MA and Ph.D. levels. Fellowships are anticipated to be approximately $5,000, although requests for other amounts may be submitted. The Center will entertain any proposal that is centrally related to Indonesian Studies, but will give priority to those that seek support for fieldwork in Indonesia or archival research (in Indonesia or elsewhere). Funds permitting, the Center will also consider supporting other activities, including dissertation writing or intensive language study in Indonesia. Funding period: Funds may be used for research activities between April 1, 2009 and March 30, 2010. Application deadline: February 1, 2009, with awards announced by mid-March 2009.
