TitleExtended Call for Papers: Models of Interaction in Bilinguals
Body
SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF BILINGUAL EDUCATION AND BILINGUALISM ON MODELS OF INTERACTION IN BILINGUALS
Volume 13: 3 & 4
2010
Guest Editor: Virginia C. Mueller Gathercole

In conjunction with the International Conference on Models of Interaction in Bilinguals, held in Bangor, Wales, Oct. 24 - 26, 2008, the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism will publish a special issue on this topic in spring 2010. The special issue will consist of approximately 12 key articles that represent the latest in-depth research on this topic, with preference given to research that combines theoretical and empirical support to address relevant issues. "Interaction" in bilinguals is broadly defined to include, e.g., interaction between the bilingual's two languages, interaction between language and cognition, interaction between bilinguals' writing systems/literacy, and any other relevant topic.

The call for submissions is especially open to oral and poster presenters from the conference, but is not restricted to them. (Please note that presentation at the conference does not guarantee acceptance for the special issue, however.)

All submissions will be peer-reviewed, with the goal of publishing approximately 12 leading-edge articles on the topic.

Papers should be no more than 7,000 words (including references), and should follow the style sheet used by the journal (please consult "Instructions for Authors" at the journal website: http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/journal.asp?issn=1367-0050&linktype=44 ).

-Deadline for submission: EXTENDED TO: January 30, 2009
-The first stage of the review process is expected to be complete by May 2009.
-Those whose papers are accepted or who are invited to revise and re-submit papers will be asked to complete revision by August 2009.
-Final versions of papers will be submitted to the publisher by the end of October 2009.
