| Title | CLTA Outstanding Teacher Awards and New Teacher Travel Awards |
| Body | The California Language Teachers' Association recognizes individual CLTA members who make significant contributions to the teaching of languages. Postmark deadline for applications is January 5, 2009. CLTA membership is required for both 2008 and 2009. CLTA offers grants for teachers with no more that 4 years of teaching experience to attend the CLTA Conference. Award amounts vary from year to year but are expected to be about $300 this year. The grant may be used for registration, travel, lodging, and meals. This grant usually has few or no applicants so your chances of receiving it could be good.
