The World Languages Academy, University of Oregon, is seeking qualified applicants for possible adjunct instructor positions in its Arabic, Korean, Portuguese, and Swahili language programs for the 2008/2009 academic year.

Positions are part or full-time, limited duration appointments subject to possible renewal for up to three years, depending on need, funding and performance. Beginning salary $30,000/academic year. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis, and interviews will be conducted as positions become available.

Applicants must possess a minimum of the following qualifications:
-Masters degree in a relevant foreign language, TESOL, Linguistics or a closely related field
-Experience teaching in a college/university/public schools based foreign language program
-Experience in communicative language methodology, task-based learning, and skills integration
-Ability to develop and adapt classroom materials to meet students' needs
-Proficiency using technology in classroom activities
-Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team and faculty committee(s)
-Native, or near-native proficiency in the respective language (Arabic, Korean, Portuguese, Swahili)

Candidates with experience serving the needs of diverse populations are strongly desired.
