EST Join Dr. Jack Levy and Dr. Keira Ballantyne of the National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA) for a discussion of NCELA’s spring 2008 Roundtable Report Educating English Language Learners: Building Teacher Capacity. In this presentation, Drs. Levy and Ballantyne will describe specific Professional Development resources and strategies tailored specifically for teachers of English language arts, social studies, math and science who work with ELLs. They will highlight a set of recommendations that are keyed to the standards of the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the National Staff Development Council (NSDC). Our guest presenters will provide a 30-minute presentation on this topic and engage web conference participants in an interactive question-and-answer conversation.
