Body | Santa Barbara, California http://www.sbceo.org/~sbsdweb/jobop.html High School Principal Deadline: Friday May 30, 2003 Qualifications: Successful candidates will have a valid California credential authorizing service as a Secondary School Administrator, a strong background of successful teaching experience, a broad background in secondary curriculum, and the personal qualities required for leadership, teamwork, and the development of good staff morale. Preference will be given to applicants fluent in Spanish. Major Duties: Under the supervision of the Superintendent, the Principal will be responsible for administering the educational program of the school under the California Education Code, the Administrative Code of California and the policies and regulations of the Santa Barbara Elementary School District. The Principal is directly responsible to the Superintendent, and is directly responsible for the certificated and classified personnel assigned to the school. The Principal is to be a strong instructional leader, committed to the District's Mission. He or she is expected to make recommendations to improve the educational program and the support functions of the district; to keep abreast of current education theory and practice; to maintain active contact with local, state, and national professional organizations. The Principal also performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Salary: The salary is an eight-step range, currently $94,852-$105,566 on the Management Schedule for a 222-day contract, paid over 12 months. Maximum placement is at the fourth step, with at least three years management experience.
