| Body | From http://www.jfny.org/jfny_literature.html The Japan Foundation now offers the Japanese Contemporary Literature Project. All are invited to participate. Under the program, English translations of contemporary best-selling Japanese novels are made available free of charge to any interested groups. A group can be a class, a reading group, a casual gathering of friends, or any other organization that brings people together to read. If there is sufficient interest in a region for a certain author, after the author's works have been read, the Foundation will invite the author from Japan to meet with the reading groups and discuss his or her work. It is an exciting opportunity. The book list for 2008-2009 has the following titles: The Diving Pool: Three Novellas, by Yoko Ogawa; Bedtime Eyes, by Amy Yamada; and Sayonara, Gangsters, by Genichiro Takahashi.
